Atlas Mara Zambia At The Launch Of The Atlas Mara And Zesco United Football Club Sponsorship

On behalf of the Board, Management and staff of Atlas Mara Zambia I am pleased to be part of this exciting occasion.

Atlas Mara Zambia is now three months old as a brand in Zambia and we are excited to partner with a giant in Zambian Football which holds the aspirations of millions of Zambians as the flag bearer of Zambian football in the CAF Champions League.

What many people may not know is that we have been the official banking partner of Zesco United Football club for the past ten years and we have seen them grow from a determined Division 1 club to one of the power houses of Zambian and African Football. In the last decade Zesco United Football club have managed to successfully amass five (5) Super League titles, eleven other trophies and have developed a strong reputation in the continents premier competition the CAF Champions league.

In line with our brand slogan “Let’s make success”, to attain Success you need to:

Set your goal

Understand the obstacles

Create a positive mental picture

Clear your mind of self-doubt

Embrace the challenge

Stay on track

Show the world you can do it

The success that Zesco United Football Club has experienced can be attributed to the professional manner in which the club is managed and the great support they have been receiving from Zesco Ltd, which makes it a model for Zambian Football management.

When Zesco United approached us to partner with them on a journey to win the CAF Champions League and represent the country at the FIFA Club World Championships, we were convinced it was a goal that was attainable and something that would make the country proud.

For Atlas Mara this sponsorship goes beyond playing the beautiful game. In the next two years we intend to use the power of football to reach the many vulnerable youths across Zambia with messages that will inspire them to be a ‘success’ like the Zesco United Football Club.

The Club has developed a strong network of football clubs across the country and we plan to partner with these clubs to share information with the youths around the importance of getting an education while developing a talent, and ensuring that youths do not engage in vices such as crime, alcohol and drug abuse.

We are also pleased that Zesco United has seen it fit to maintain a successful women’s football team which offers the girl child an opportunity to explore football talents.

We look forward to a successful partnership with Zesco United Football club and urge football fans across Zambia to rally behind the club as they raise the flag of Zambia higher in 2018 CAF Champions League.

I thank you

James Koni
