Mr. Nchima Nchito, SC

Board Chairman

Mr. Nchima Nchito,SC is a senior legal practitioner enjoying the rank and dignity of State Counsel. He was admitted to the bar in 1987 and is an experienced Advocate who holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Zambia. He has extensive experience in litigation and perfecting of bank securities.

Mr. Nchito has specialized in all aspects of corporate law. He is an active member of the Institute of Directors and has been involved in the promotion of integrity among the professionals in the private and public sector. He worked on assignments with the former Zambia Privatisation Agency (ZPA), which has since become Zambia Development Agency (ZDA).

Mr. Nchito previously served as Legal Counsel and Deputy Company Secretary in Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines (ZCCM) – the former mining conglomerate. He has extensive experience in dealing with local and international contract negotiations and agreements involving, among others, international financial and trading institutions and was the lead lawyer in the listing of ZCCM shares on the Lusaka Stock Exchange.

Anand

Mr. Sanjeev Anand

Director

Mr. Sanjeev Anand was appointed as the Group Managing Director of ABC Holdings and Atlas Mara in July 2017 and joined the Group from Banque Populaire du Rwanda Ltd (BPR) where he was Managing Director since January 2016. Prior to the latter position, Sanjeev was Managing Director of I&M Bank Rwanda Limited (previously Banque Commerciale du Rwanda-BCR).

During this period, he managed the transition of ownership of I&M Bank from Actis to the I&M consortium, comprising I&M Kenya, DEG and PROPARCO. Prior to the above, Sanjeev had an illustrious career of 25 years with Citibank, where he held a number of senior assignments across Asia, Europe, America and Africa. Some of the key positions he held during this period were as CEO of Citibank in Zambia and Uganda and Executive Director of Citibank Nigeria. He was also Head of Risk and Chief Auditor Citibank Handlowy, Poland and has remained an Airline/Aerospace Industry specialist. During his leadership at I&M/BCR, the bank was voted ‘Best Bank in Rwanda’ by Global Finance for 5 successive years and Best Bank by Financial Times/The Banker for 2013. The bank also received the prestigious regional CIO 100 award for being the most Innovative Company in Technology in Rwanda for two successive years.

He has provided leadership in pioneering the introduction of electronic payment systems, SME financing programs, entrepreneur development facilities and other important financial initiatives.

Sanjeev is a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Prior to this, he completed his graduation in Commerce (with honours) from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University. He has attended and taught courses in banking, finance and leadership. He is a certified 6-Sigma trainer. He was a senior credit officer in Citibank.

Mr. Muhammad Khan is an accomplished Senior Executive with more than 20 years of success spanning financial services, finance, and banking. Leveraging extensive experience building dynamic organizations and driving sustainable growth, Muhammad is a valuable asset for a company requiring advisory services related to enterprise development, change management, or operations alignment. His broad areas of expertise include performance management, transformation, talent optimization, and operational structures. Muhammad has held leadership positions with Commercial International Bank Egypt, Atlas Mara Ltd, Axxiome Group, ABN AMRO Bank N.V and Citibank NA.

He has been responsible for leading the transformation of Financial Institutions, directing the integration of a consumer portfolio, and managing the approval process for projects and programs within his organization. Muhammad advises on key strategic deliverables, participates in forums and committees, and translates complex, high-level objectives resulting in increased revenue and efficiencies. An industry leader, Muhammad specializes in best practices, process improvements, and operational transformations that drive revenue, fuel productivity, and improve employee retention statistics in all measurable categories.

Muhammad attained his BBA in Finance and Marketing from the Institute of Business Administration. As a seasoned board member, he has held board positions with CI Capital, Egypt, Atlas Mara Zambia and BancAbc Zimbabwe Holding company.

Chiara

Dr. Chiara Chiumya

After serving approximately 18 years as a financial institutions’ regulator and supervisor at Zambia’s Central Bank, Dr Chiara Chiumya decided it was time to make her mark using a more direct and focused approach by branching out as a consultant. Her focus areas are Financial Sector Regulation and Supervision, Microfinance and SME Finance, Rural Finance, Financial Inclusion, Financial Literacy, Consumer Protection and Enterprise Development.

She holds a PhD in Public Administration and Policy from the University of Manchester and an MBA in International Banking and Finance from the University of Birmingham.

Chikwashi

Mr. Chrispin Chikwashi

Principal Standing Committees Audit Committee | Risk Committee Mr. Chrispin Chikwashi is a senior finance professional with extensive audit, risk management, business line experience and product knowledge in global financial services.

Mr. Chikwashi has over 25 years’ experience in financial services having progressively held finance and internal audit leadership positions in the Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East, and Africa, with firms such as Citi and GE Capital International.

Mr. Chikwashi is a Fellow of CIMA (FCMA), in the United Kingdom, and is a Chartered Member of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants.

Sikazwe

Mr. Jacob Sikazwe

Mr. Jacob Jones Sikazwe has over 40 years of practical business experience in International Corporate Leadership, Human Resources management including Transformation, Logistics, Marketing, Banking and Empowerment programmes. Prior to joining the Energy sector, he worked in various Parastatal companies including Roan Antelope Mine (Mufulira), National Agriculture Marketing Board and Zambia Airways. Mr. Sikazwe had spent considerable time; working overseas on both short- and long-term assignments having worked for BP Group Offices in London, and BP Amoco Offices in United States of America and Africa.

At Board Governance level, he has held various Board positions of which he has been Chairman of following boards:
